ALL EYES 👀 On VIRGINIA - The fight for Democracy begins here.
We are celebrating our 200th Show! 🎉👏‼️
All eyes are on Virginia - and on Abigail Spanberger, Virginia Candidate for Governor. Many see this election as a way back from the MAGA attack on our liberties. Spanberger will tell us about her campaign, her plan to win, and how she will protect Virginia from the horrible MAGA policies. We will discuss what is happening to families in Virginia under the Trump Regime.
We are pleased to be joined with some organizers, extraordinaire:
Jake Fein, Senior Regional Organizer, Indivisible
Jake is a veteran organizer. He has worked on many Virginia election cycles, notably as Field Organizer for Russet Perry’s campaign. Jake will be working with the grassroots and the campaigns across Virginia to go fight and win! Indivisible was the first grassroots organization that came out fighting back against the fascist MAGA agenda and delivered resources and a plan to fight back.
Timothy Cywinski, Communications Director & Paige Wesselink, Digital Communications Lead, Sierra Club VA Chapter
Tim and Paige are amazing environmental champions at the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter. They are sounding the alarm on the existential health and energy threat: DATA CENTERS. We will discuss the inaction in the General Assembly and the impacts on our health, water, and quality of living as the footprints of data centers are built in neighborhoods across Virginia.
In the 2025 session, the General Assembly of Virginia is considering several bills aimed at regulating data center development, including measures on cost allocation, environmental impacts, and land use. Given Virginia’s status as the “data center capital of the world,” these proposals—if enacted—could significantly affect data center operators, utility providers, and renewable energy developers. The stakes are high. According to Amazon, “Every day, approximately 70% of global internet traffic moves through data centers in Virginia.” (Read the latest news article on Data Centers here. More on the inaction in the VA General Assembly and the frustration here.)
