Virginia Grassroots Continue to "Get It Done"
10th Annual Women's Summit, August 21-23, 2026
Join the Virginia Grassroots at our next coalition meeting, May 17, 6:00pm to debrief and discuss lessons learned from our recent Vote Yes campaign. On the legal challenges and pushback, the best response is simple, “Virginia voters have spoken.” Do not let debates about each lawsuit bog you down. We are focusing on preparing voters for the primaries and the new districts.
The Virginia Grassroots as they have for 10 years are focusing on preparing voters not only for the primaries, yet for November by showing up at Network NOVA’s Big Ten Women’s Summit, August 21-23, 2026. Early bird tickets.
For a decade the Women’s Summit has been the place where grassroots activists from Virginia and across the county have Powered Up, Fought Back, and Showed Up. We have the victories to prove it! Now it’s time to celebrate our victories, lift each other up and get fired up for the next fight: we are going ALL IN to WIN the midterms! See you there. It’s gonna be legendary.
Take these Calls to Action
Last week the General Assembly held a special session to review bills Governor Spanberger amended. Rather than accept changes they felt weakened the original language, legislators “passed by” key bills — sending them back to the Governor in their original form. She now has 30 days to sign or veto. Please take the calls to action below. We need her signature on these bills as written.
On the budget, significant disagreement remains between the House and Senate. Expect another special session in May — the deadline is June 30.
Protected Spaces - Urge Governor Spanberger to protect people from unjust arrest in courthouses, schools, hospitals, and polling places. Take Action Here

Nick Knudsen, DemcastUSA with the creators of Eleven Films, Jim and Tiffany Drastic, discuss the power of narrative and grassroots digital organizing through their new project, The Dangerous Ones, which highlights how storytelling can inform, connect, and mobilize.
