AGENCIES BEING DISMANTLED
State Department
Trump admin draft plan proposes cutting State Department funding by nearly half. It would eliminate almost all funding for international organizations that include the United Nations and NATO. It proposes cutting funding for humanitarian assistance and global health programs by more than 50 percent.
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
Reduction so far: 85%
1,400 of the agency’s 1,700 employees have been terminated. Medical debt and student loans will now be deprioritized. Read more [Wired]
National Science Foundation (NSF)
APR 18: All new research grants were frozen by DOGE. They are also reviewing active grants for terms diversity, equity and inclusion and is considering terminating more than 200 of them.

Health & Human Services (HHS)
Reduction so far: 24%

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)
Reduction: 99% Final cuts eliminate U.S. Aid Agency in all but name.
Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
Planned reduction: 14%

Department of Education
Trump issued an executive order on March 20, 2025, that calls for closing the U.S. Department of Education. Read more [Philly Tribune]
