We will miss you, Gerry

Here’s to a man who never backed down, never shut up, and never let the bastards win. Sláinte!

Gerry Connolly always showed up for us — and for his community. He was a friend, champion of grassroots women activists, and a steadfast supporter of Network NOVA. One of our favorite images is of Gerry beaming in a room full of fired-up grassroots leaders at the 7th Annual Women’s Summit, ALL IN TO WIN VA. Thank you Gerry.

We find strength in the words of remembrance from Delegate Briana Sewell, an early Network NOVA Crew member. Her tribute beautifully highlights Gerry’s deep dedication to Prince William County and the lasting impact he made there.

Gerry led with heart, courage, and humor. He stood with us at every Women’s Summit since 2018 and was a regular favorite on the Friday Power Lunch (including his unforgettable appearance just two days after January 6th).

When Stair moved in 2007, she became Gerry’s constituent and fondly recalls hosting him during the year we flipped Prince William County blue! Katherine remains in his district and will be forever grateful for her friendship with Gerry.

Gerry was loved, he will be missed — and his legacy calls us to keep showing up, speaking out, and carrying the fight forward with the heart, humor, and fierce joy he brought.
