Wear Orange Weekend, June 6–8
Show Up - Together We Win!
Wear Orange Weekend, June 6–8, is a national campaign to raise awareness about gun violence and support the courageous advocates working to end it.
Wear Orange Day, observed on June 6, began in honor of Hadiya Pendleton, a15-year-old from Chicago who was tragically shot and killed just one week after marching in President Obama’s second inaugural parade. In her memory, Hadiya’s friends chose orange — the color hunters wear to protect themselves and others — to symbolize the value of every human life and to call for an end to gun violence. What started as a local act of love and protest has since grown into a powerful, nationwide movement for change.
This June 6, let’s stand together. Find a Wear Orange event near you, gather your people, and show up. Whether it’s a vigil, a rally, or a community gathering, every action matters. Let’s honor the lives stolen by gun violence and lift up the urgent demand for a safer, fairer, and more peaceful future for us all. Because when we wear orange together, we cannot be ignored.
